NYC: Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty

A few block from our apartment was this to be found. A Swedish Konditori \ Khan – da – tor – ree\: . Coffeshop and fine baked goods and confections. I felt a bit like home when the Big/Small (for coffee) was written Stor/Liten.

So this is where we bought our morning ice coffee  (we had plenty of them) on the Friday. We walked by Central Park on our way over to the MET museum. Finally the real reason to why we went to NYC!The exhibition was beyond beauty. It was really moving to read all his quotes about death and then knowing that he actually slashed his wrists with a ceremonial dagger and hanged himself in his wardrobe. This reminds me of the hip belt I designed in 2009 in Sweden. The layers. He obviously enjoyed Flemish paintings.LeatherHorse hairSkeleton shoesThe Tudors inspired collection displayed in a dungeon. One of my favorites, the oyster dress.I bought an amazing book from the exhibition filled with all creations on display and more. For only 36 dollar! Amazing. I will show it to you later on.

What we did the all Friday afternoon? Here.
